Moving & Storage Facebook Strategies
Moving & Storage Facebook Strategies
Today’s Scheduled topic for the “The Moving Expert” is Facebook.
And what an exciting time for me personally for this topic to come up,
I am in competition with marketing-move’s 2 other sister company to see how many fans we can get to our companies’ fan page. And at first I thought I had the upper hand because can make great looking custom pages and have so much content to share, However, I am failing quickly due to my partners fanning strategy. They each have a tremendous amount of personal connections of friends and family they are already connected to, so all they had to do was send a recommend this page to a friend link and within a day they had over a hundred fans to their page.
So here I am with my custom facebook page that is branded with my companies look and feel and a custom page that looks like my very own section of facebook, and content that I know will help my followers with no friends and 6 fans to my page of which was my two partners who each fanned twice! That’s when I realized, I need more friends, I could have the greatest content in the world on my facebook marketing strategy but if no one was following it then no good it would do.
I am sure I am not the only business owner in the world looking to promote my business on facebook with a single friend.
Here’s what I did. My company specializes in marketing for a specific industry “The moving and Storage industry”. So my first step was to try and search moving and storage companies that where already on facebook. facebook’s search tool. Located simply at facebook.com/search. You can specify whether to search people, pages, or groups, I search all three and then preceded to like, friend request and join all the pages I found.
I have to admit this concept felt a little “spammy” which was a bit fitting being my wife just handed me a spam sandwich. I have to admit, hopefully she doesn’t read my page, but I don’t like spam neither physically or digitally.
My justification in doing this method was,
hey look I love the moving and storage industry, and that’s no joke its kinda weird I never thought I would but, I believe in this service and think it is a great industry to be involved with and to be able to market for it. So if I love the moving and storage industry then maybe just maybe the folks from these pages are fans of the industry as well. Out of the 240 request I made 19 connected and we are well on our way. Personally I want to try and establish a relationship with my fans/friends and if it leads to a business relationship then great, but right now I am looking to connect and share information with people that are in the same industry.
I hope to add value to my followers friends/ fans by giving them useful tips that they can use right now on their own even if they decide not to hire my company, hopefully that will lead to more business down the road but for now I want to give my audience a reason to stay in touch. Oh and also to try and beat out my partners in number of fans contest we’re having.
I was on a call earlier today and one of the partners who mentioned that someone was bragging that they had over 3400 friends and he only had 600, he replied that the difference was that he had quality connection, he knew all 600 people indevidually and has numerous conversations with each of them on a regular basis, I’d like to say the same as well. I would like to get to know my followers, and share information that can all help our businesses grow.
So whereas these “Moving Expert” entries are suppose to inform others I believe that I have learned the most out of this topic. I hope that the other guy out there who is on the fence about doing a facebook marketing campaign for their business will be inspired to just get out there and do it and try and find connections with their customers and is inspired to give those followers something worth connecting to.
Listen facebook isn’t going anywhere people, and its popularity will grow and grow as time goes on, it’s already giving google a run for the money, and I feel we are at the beginnings of something really great. So get out get a strategy going, and please share your stories with me here on my facebook fan page.
